What is ISO 22000?

ISO 22000 series of the international standard is applied to the fields of food safety management.
Unsafe food may result in serious consequences and ISO standard for food safety management is useful in identifying and controlling food safety risks.
Today, a tremendous amount of food is crossing borders and an international standard is a must to secure safe global supply chains for food.

ISO 22000:2018 proposes requirements for food safety management system, which can be certified. The standard provides matters that organization should do to verify that they are capable of controlling food safety risks, in other words that food is safe to consume. The standard is applicable to all organization regardless of the food chain size or location.
